A Documentary on the Jewish Community of Oudtshoorn
Spirit Sister Productions of South Africa has recently produced a three part documentary of past and present Jewish life in Oudtshoorn.

As they note in their production notes, Oudtshoorn is one of South Africa's most interesting Jewish historic centres. So vibrant was the Jewish community that the town was named, with some degree of exaggeration, 'Little Jerusalem' or 'Yerushalayim be-Derom Afrika' (Jerusalem of South Africa). A large Jewish community, primarily from Lithuania, immigrated to Oudtshoorn and played a large role in the world wide marketing of ostrich feathers.

So sit back and watch the documentary.
