TERRE HAUTE — Doris J. Morgan, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Feb. 18, 2011, at her residence. Born in Chicago, on March 16, 1928, she was the daughter of George and Gustal (Pohl) Cliff. She retired as the executive assistant to the vice-president of L.E. Myers, a contractor of electric utilities.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ralph Morgan; her children, Charles Jacobus and his wife Heidi of Ann Arbor, Mich., George Buhai-Jacobus and his wife Liz of Oak Park, Ill., and Geraldine J. Terry and her husband Tom of Lakeland, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Monica Jacobus, Patrick Jacobus, Sarah Buhai-Jacobus, Samantha Buhai-Jacobus and Maxine Terry. She also is survived by a sister-in-law, Lois Morgan Zukunft; a brother-in-law, Fred Morgan; nieces and nephews, Tim Morgan, Lou Ann Pence, Cindy Morgan, Scott Morgan and Carolyn Morgan; and five very loyal caregivers, Wendy Roberts, Karla Watkins, Connie Roberts, Danielle Jones and Stacie West. Her special friends were Monte and Nancy Watts. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Jacobus.
She was a 1945 graduate of Schurz High School and a 1949 graduate of Northwestern University with a B.S. in chemistry where she was the Intramural Women's Tennis Champion all four years. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta and was a volunteer for many organizations in Hinsdale, Ill., including the Girl Scouts. She had also been employed as a chemist for Kraft Foods.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Prairieton United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Colleen Harden will officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Prairieton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 67, Prairieton, IN 47870. Send condolences to Ralph Morgan, 1120 E.
