Death
Cecil Charron Quietly and peacefully, on Sunday morning, September 4, 2022, at the Jewish General Hospital. Survived by his devoted and loving wife of sixty-five years, Miriam Seligman. Beloved father and father-in-law of Mitchell and Lisa, Andrew and Judy, Naomi and Arjun. Cherished grandfather to his greatest joys, Adam (Angel), Ori, Milo and Jayden. Brother-in-law of Fred and Cathy Seligman. Predeceased by siblings, Moe (the late Sadie), Sam, Evie Lax (the late Allan) and Ethel Gerson. Their bond remained strong and eternal. He is also predeceased by his parents, Elsie and Frank Charron, and he enjoyed a special and loving relationship with his father- and mother-in-law, Harry and Bertha Seligman. Uncle to countless nieces and nephews. He was a loving family man and enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings, both intimate and large. Cecil Charron was born July 14, 1929, at the Jeffrey Hale Hospital in Quebec City. He was an honest and hardworking soul and built a long career in the insurance business. He loved skiing, biking, and athletics (often to a fault). Cecil was a generous and giving man and volunteered from an early age for numerous organizations including the MADA Center, the B’nai Brith Children’s Swim, and the Auberge Shalom pour femmes. In his later years, he channeled his energy toward creative endeavors especially stained glass and sculpture. Alongside Miriam, Cecil acted with the Beth Tikvah Players. He enlivened gatherings and events as a great speaker and joker with a hearty sense of humour and a thunderous laugh. Miriam often says she fell in love with his “gorgeous, twinkling” blue eyes. The family wishes to extend love and gratitude to Carmen and Flora for their exceptional care.
