SCHAFER, Freda (née Seligman) Peacefully, on Monday, October 1, 2012. Beloved wife of Joseph for sixty-four years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Marlene and Irwin Fremeth, Leonard, Gary and Caroline, Jacqueline, and Derek and Malika Schafer. Cherished Bubbie of Deena and Phil, Neil and fiancée Kristin, David, Matthew, Nigel, Dylan, Emily, and Cayden. Proud great-grandmother of Ryan. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Sheila and the late Louis Seligman. Sister-in-law of Natalie and Harvey Schafer, Benjamin and the late Rita Blumenthal, the late Lester and the late Myrna Schafer. Freda will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. McMillan for her care, kindness, and devotion, as well as to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, October 5, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva private from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. Due to the Festival of Succot, Shiva commences the evening of Tuesday, October 9.
