SCHAFER, Joseph Peacefully, on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Freda Seligman. Dear father and father-in-law of Marlene and Irwin Fremeth, Leonard, Gary and Caroline, Jacqueline, and Derek Schafer. Cherished grandfather of Deena and Phil, Neil and Kristin, David, Matthew, Nigel and Natalie, Dylan, Emily, and Cayden. Proud great- grandfather of Ryan and Foster. Brother and brother-in-law of Harvey and Natalie Schafer, Benjamin and the late Rita Blumenthal, the late Lester and the late Myrna Schafer, and brother-in-law of Sheila and the late Louis Seligman. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank his recreational therapist, Lisa, and the staff of Manoir de l'Ouest de l'Île for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Cemetery, D.D.O.
